An outstanding experience

At AMIA, we work hard to keep every appointment calm, professional and on time. These policies help us look after every client well — and give you a clear picture of what to expect when you visit.

Rescheduling & cancellations

Rescheduling

  • ·Appointments can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice.

  • ·Your booking fee will be transferred to your new appointment, provided the new date falls within the same calendar month as the original.

  • ·If no suitable date is available within the same month, the booking fee is forfeit and a new one will be required to rebook.

  • ·Rescheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice is at our discretion, subject to availability.

Cancellations

  • ·Booking fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

  • ·Any outright cancellation, missed appointment or no-show results in loss of the booking fee.

  • ·If something urgent comes up on the day, call us as soon as possible — we’ll do our best to move you to another slot within the same month.

Late arrivals

  • ·If you are running late, call us as soon as possible — the more notice we have, the more we can do to keep your appointment on track.

  • ·We don’t charge late fees. Where lateness can’t be absorbed without disrupting the next client, we may need to reduce your service or reschedule.

  • ·Whether the appointment can still be carried out is at the stylist’s discretion.

Service changes

  • ·Service changes must fit within the originally booked time.

  • ·Changes requiring additional time may not be possible on the day — we may need to reschedule to fit the new service in properly.

Appointment preparation

You’ve got three ways to come in prepped. Pick the one that suits you.

1. Book a wash & blow dry with us

  • ·Easiest option — we handle the wash, treatment if needed, and the blow dry so your hair is prepped exactly the way the style needs.

  • ·Recommended for sleek styles (silk press, sleek ponytails, sew-ins with leave-out) where the finish depends on a proper salon prep.

2. Book a takedown

  • ·If you’re coming out of braids, locs, a wig install or any protective style, add a takedown to your booking.

  • ·Combine with a wash & blow dry so your hair’s ready straight after.

3. Come pre-washed & blow dried (minimal product)

  • ·Hair washed, free of build-up and heavy oils.

  • ·Heat protectant and a light leave-in are fine — anything heavier coats the hair and makes the style harder to set.

  • ·A thorough blow dry with a comb attachment the day of, or the day before, gives the best result. If your hair reverts quickly, come with 2–4 loose cornrows to keep it stretched.

  • ·Not recommended for sleek styles — those really do need a salon wash to land properly.

Outside hair — yes, we welcome it

  • ·Bring your own hair, or ask us to source it. Message us on WhatsApp before booking if you’d like a recommendation or a quote.

  • ·Braids: bring pre-stretched extensions only.

  • ·Wigs & frontals: deliver to the salon at least 5 days before your appointment so we can prep the unit properly.

Frontal & wig aftercare

  • ·Allow glue to fully dry for 24 hours before exposure to moisture (including sweat). Failure to follow aftercare may affect results.

  • ·Adjustments may be requested within 7 days of your appointment. Refunds are not provided for aftercare-related changes.

Visitors

  • ·To keep the salon calm and comfortable, only clients receiving services should attend appointments.

  • ·If you require a parent, guardian, or essential companion for legal or medical reasons, please let us know in advance.

  • ·Children under 12 must be supervised at all times.

Retail products

  • ·Unopened retail products may be exchanged or returned within 14 days.

  • ·Opened hair extensions, wigs and bundles are non-returnable for hygiene reasons unless faulty.

  • ·Orders cancelled before dispatch are refunded in full. After dispatch, items must be returned before a refund is processed.
