Sensitive scalp?
If standard braiding hair irritates your scalp, we're looking into plant based extensions. Message us if you're interested and we'll talk you through the options.
Our standard
Salon quality, in every style.
- Clean, even parts. Neat sections from the crown to the nape, so your braids look as good up close as they do from across the room.
- Comfortable tension. We never braid tighter than feels right for you, so your style is kind to your edges from day one.
- Gentle on your scalp. We use alcohol free gel, or no gel at all. It's your choice.
- A clean start. Braids sit best on clean, stretched hair. Come in washed and blow dried, or add a wash and blow dry to your booking and we'll prep your hair for you.

When to wait before braiding
Braids protect healthy hair, but they aren't right for every moment. We'll gently suggest waiting if:
- your scalp is sore, flaking heavily or irritated
- your edges are thinning or your hairline feels tender
- your hair is breaking or very dry, in which case a treatment first will give you a better result
- you've had a relaxer in the last two weeks
Not sure? WhatsApp us a photo before you book. If your hair needs some care first, our Healthy Hair Reset is the best place to begin.
Good to know
A non-refundable booking fee secures your appointment, and the balance is paid in salon.
Need to move your appointment? Please give us at least 48 hours' notice.
Very tangled hair needs extra time to detangle gently, so a £20 charge applies. We'll always let you know before we begin.
Aftercare
Caring for your braids
- Wrap your braids every night in a satin scarf or bonnet. It keeps them neat and stops friction at the hairline.
- Keep your scalp clean with a light, alcohol free scalp spray, and avoid heavy oils that build up at the roots.
- Wash gently every two to three weeks, focusing on the scalp, and dry your braids fully so they stay fresh.
- Avoid tight ponytails and high buns in the first week, while your roots settle.
- Keep your braids in for four to six weeks. Any longer, and your new growth starts to mat and your hair is more likely to break when the braids come out.
Refresh or takedown
A Braids Refresh rebraids the front three rows and the nape, so your style looks new again.
Takedowns are booked as Standard, Complex or Extreme, depending on the size and length of your braids. Not sure which? Send us a photo and we'll tell you.
Questions
Braids, answered
How long does it take?
Anywhere from three hours for jumbo twists to ten hours for extra small knotless. Each style above shows its time, and your booking confirms it.
Which style is best for me?
Knotless and boho braids are the lightest at the root. Box braids and twists are a classic, hard wearing choice. Crochet and miracle knots are quicker, with a lighter feel. If you're torn, WhatsApp us a photo of the look you love.
How long should I keep them in?
Four to six weeks. Any longer, and your new growth starts to mat and your hair is more likely to break.
Are knotless braids better for my edges?
They put less tension on your hairline than traditional box braids, because there's no knot at the root. Whatever style you choose, we'll never braid tighter than feels comfortable for you.
Do you use gel?
Only alcohol free gel, and only if you'd like it.
Can I bring my own hair?
Of course. Please bring pre-stretched extensions in the colour and amount you need. If you're unsure how many packs to bring, message us first.
My scalp reacts to braiding hair. Can you help?
We're looking into plant based extensions for sensitive scalps. Message us if you're interested and we'll talk you through the options.
Is a wash included?
No. Please arrive with clean, blow dried hair, free of heavy oils, or add a wash and blow dry when you book and we'll prep your hair for you.
What if I need to reschedule?
Please give us at least 48 hours' notice. You'll find everything else in our salon policies.
